Mr. and Mrs. Sam Katz of
Southfield are happy to an-
nounce the engagement of
their daughter, Lori Michele,
to Robert Scott Silverstein,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Sil-
verstein of West Bloomfield.

Miss Katz earned a
Bachelor of Arts degree in
audiology and speech sciences

Silverstein

at Michigan State University
and a Master of Arts degree
in speech pathology at Wayne
State University. She is cur-
renly employed at William
Beaumont Hospital.
Her fiance earned a
Bachelor of Arts degree in
business administration at
Michigan State University.
A May wedding is planned.

Emanuel-El Sets Events

Temple Emanu-El will host
a spring kallah, 8 p.m. Mon-
day and April 6. On Monday,
Richard Lobenthal, Midwest
director of the Anti-
Defamation League, will
speak on "The Supreme
Court and Human Rights Is-
sues." On April 6, Lobenthal
will moderate a discussion
between Howard Simon of
the American Civil Liberties
Union and Roy Hayes,
United States Attorney. Re-
freshments will be served and
the public is invited at no
charge.
The Fourth Grade will
celebrate the completion of
its Hebrew primer with a
special family Shabbat dinner
on Friday. Temple profes-
sional staff will host a dinner
in Ann Arbor for the temple's
University of Michigan stu-
dents, 6 p.m. April 5. The
fifth grade will have its fam-
ily Shabbat dinner on Social
Action Shabbat, April 10.
Twelfth grade students will
participate in a graduation
ceremony in the Jospey
Sanctuary on April 11. The
graduates are Ilise Rosen,
Leah Umlah and Jeffrey
Weiner.

temple's
Model
Sederim will be held on April
12. Grades kindergarten to
three will be led by Cantor
Norman Rose in the Patricia
Modell Youth Lounge. Grades
four to seven will be led by
Rabbi Lane Steinger in the
Esther Katzman Social Hall.

Herut To Hear
Israeli Speaker

Ptachie Shamir, president
and executive chairman of
the Israeli board of Youth
Town in Israel, will address
the Jabotinsky Society of the
Herut Zionists of America,
7:30 p.m. Sunday, at the
Jewish Community Center's
Jimmy Prentis Morris
branch.
Shamir will speak on prob-
lems in U.S.-Israel relations..
An Israeli film will be shown.
Refreshments will be served.
