Program At Tam

The Jewish Welfare Feder-
ation Women's Division con-
cludes this year's "Food for
Thought" lunch seies with a
program at 11:30 a.m. April 7
at Tam O'Shanter Country
Club.
One of the division's new
community outreach pro-
grams, Food for Thought fea-
tures a speaker or workshop
on current issues affecting
the Jewish community.
This month's speaker,
Sonia Syme, will speak on
"Bio-Medical Ethics: Judaism
Responds to New Scientific
Discoveries."
Syme is head of religion
and education for the Temple
Israel Sisterhood and a 12th
grade teacher in the temple's
religious school. A teacher of
Responsa (rabbinic answers
to modern problems), Syme
focuses on Jewish medical
ethics in her course at the
Midrasha, College of Jewish
Studies.
Annie Cohen is chairman
of the Food for Thought
series: Nancy Glass is associ-
ate chairman; and Fran Hack
is luncheon chairman. Marcy
Feldman is vice president of
Women's Division; and Mar-
lene Borman is president.

Mrs. Orbach has acted, di-
rected, and produced in thea-
ter, opera, film, television
and radio. Most recently she
performed in The Rose Tatoo
at Meadow Brook
She was trained in New
York City where she began
her professional career as a
child. She has studied with
such notables as Sidney
Lumet and Morris Car-
novsky. Currently, she- is co-
chairman of the Women's
Committee of the Screen Ac-
tors Guild and the American
Federation of Television and
Radio Actors in Michigan.
Luncheon chairmen are
Cindy Franklin and Gayle
Hirsch. There is a fee. For
