Jewish Network
To Conference

The 1987 Statewide Convo-
cation of the Michigan
Jewish Network, coordinated
by the Jewish Community
Council of Metropolitan De-
troit, has been scheduled for
9:30 a.m. April 5, at the Kel-
logg Center in East Lansing.
Focus of the conference will
be the relationship between
campus and community, and
how the two can work to-
gether toward common goals.
Sessions and panel dis-
cussions will deal with
domestic and international
concerns as well as the role of
campuses and Jewish student
organizations in dealing with
issues.
Speakers will include
David Nussbaum, executive
director of the Flint Jewish
Federation; Michael Brooks,
director of the B'nai B'rith
Hillel Foundation at the
University of Michigan; and
Sidney Goodman, president of
the Lansing Jewish Federa-
tion.
Attendance is by invitation
and reservations are re-
quired.

Health Screening
April 5 At JCC

The Sinai Hospital Guild is
sponsoring a Health Educa-
tion Day 1-5 p.m. April 5 at
the Jewish Community Cen-
ter in West Bloomfield.
Topics for the free seminars
include: plastic surgery,
starting an exercise program,
stress, depression, hormones,
child development, substance
abuse and sexually transmit-
ted diseases. Two free heart
saver classes are also being
offered. Participants in the
class will learn cardiopulmo-
nary resuscitation.
Sinai health care profes-
sionals will be available to
answer questions and to per-
form free cholesterol, blood
pressure, blood typing and
oral cancer detection tests.
Occult blood test kits will be
available.
Free bus service from the
Jewish Community Center in
Oak Park will be available
throughout the day. Babysit-
ting and valet parking will
be set up for a nominal fee at
the JCC in West Bloomfield.
