Scent Smart Tips
1. Know the choices. Per-
fume is the heaviest and
headiest because it contains
the highest percentage of
essential oils. Toilet water is
two to three times more in-
tense than cologne, followed
by after-shave which has the
lowest concentration of per-
fume oils.
2. Know your scent families:
amber/alderhydic (smoky,
opulent), examples: Je Re-
viens, Chanel No. 5; animal
aromas (heady, sensual),
examples: Musk, Intimate,
Aramis; chypre (heady, mossy)
examples: Ma Griffe, Intimate,
Revlon, Miss Dior; citrus
(sparkling, bright, fresh and
fruity), examples: Calale,
Faberge; floral (soft, sweet), ex-
amples: White Shoulders, Joy,
Charlie; green (grassy, sweet
or citrus), examples: Maja, 20
Carats, Canoe.
3. Know your type. Your
coloring, body chemistry, oc-
cupation and even fashion
preferences are factors to
consider in selecting a scentri
