LOOKS
FOR
SPRING

SALON EXPERTS REVEAL
THE NEWEST STYLES IN
HAIR, MAKEUP, SKIN CARE
AND NAILS

s

pring cleaning is "in" this
season in hair, makeup,
skin and nails. Painted
faces, stiff hairstyles, and
long, dark nails are out. What's
new is a cleaner, more natural
look. Free-flowing, loose curls in
hair, natural tones in makeup,
light-colored, shorter nails and
clean skin will dominate the
look of the fashion-conscious.
The Jewish News asked
local salon experts what to
expect this spring in hair,
makeup, skin care,
and nails. Here's what
they said.
HAIR
The essential element
of beautiful hair is natural
health and shine. Clean,
well-conditioned hair shows
off its cut, glow and color
best. The freshness of Spring
will bring new life to hair after
winter's dry, harsh cold. As

with banana clips or rubber
bands. One side longer with clips
a lot. The biggest thing is body
perms and making waves out of
hair."
MARIO BITONTI, Owner of
MarioMax Salon
"It's been close to a year that
it's (hair) been growing long.
What we are doing now for spring
is to put some shape in it. We will
cut length between shoulder and
chin length. Cut back shorter and
leave sides longer. It's square.
We still keep some long layers.
One of the most exciting hair cuts
for spring that I do is a long
layered bob. Also popular — a
soft, loose body perm. We are
also going toward lighter colors
with some highlights."
ANNA-MARIE, Owner of
Capelli Hair Colour Studio
"In colors — all natural
highlights, vibrant in red.
Blondes, brunettes, and
redheads with red highlights. I
also want to emphasize that there
are highlights to all colors. You
