are the suspenders. Crests can
also be found popping up on
knits, sweats, jackets, and robes,
adding just the right bit of
detailing. Fabric belts, a classic
look, add a touch of color to any
outfit.

OUTERWEAR
Duster coats for dress and
casual wear are longer than ever,
falling well below the knee. They
are unlined and very popular for
business or play in black, khaki,
denim or grey.
Bob Grumet carries leather
year round and this spring, a
mustard, leather bomber jacket
by LaMotta is particularly
outstanding.

DENIMS
Denim in trousers and jackets
is either snow-washed, or
antique-washed, giving that
distressed-destroyed look. Jeans
by Rifle are a big hit at Mark Keller
and Jacobs says that the newest
fashion trend in denim trousers is
pleats.
"Fewer pockets and buckles
and a more basic look is big in
jeans this season," says Freed.
"The cowboy buckle on leather,
or even rhinestone studded belts
is an important addition to jeans
and all casual pants." LJ

ACCENT ON
ACCESSORIES

To add zip to the subtle colors
of this spring, bold accessories
are highlighted. Last year's
brighter colors are showing up in
belts and other accents. To play
up the simplicity of this season's
jewel necklines, chunky
necklaces and earrings are
suggested.
The large woman is
encouraged to select larger
pieces that don't get lost on her.
Petite women, on the other hand,
should look for scaled down
pieces that don't overwhelm.
Above all, the rule of thumb is
to be comfortable in what you're
wearing and to feel that you look
good.
