eminine fashions are
stylish this spring. The
theme is romance with
lace, ruffles and flounces.
It's petticoats, and crinolines; it's
frou-frou and frills. And shorter
hemlines. Above all, spring '87 is
the time for soft fabrics gently
draping the body with style and
sophistication.
"It's a very feminine spring,"
says Cheryl, Hall fashion director,
Saks Fifth Avenue, Troy. The
silhouette flatters and celebrates
the feminine form. Hall explains
that many clothes accentuate the
figure: off-the-shoulder tops, high
or low waistline outfits, and
shorter skirts.
"The spring season has many
phases, but the overriding
element is romance," notes
Candace Barker, director of
communications at Hudson's.
Romance is evident in the
Ralph Lauren collection. Floral
print skirts topped with cashmere
tops, and for evening a romantic
ruffled blouse in sheer silk with
silk trousers.
