infancy through 4T. Her kids are
right on top of the fashion trends.
"Our children look like little
people. Today's parents enjoy
dressing their infants and
toddlers."
For the playpen crowd, it's
going to be lots of geometrics,
blacks and whites, faded denims
and "Baby Bananas," khaki with
orange accents.
Hawaiian print jams and
bicycle shorts (both just below the
knee) are very popular for toddler
boys. Shoulder padded T-shirt
tops and skinny pants are the in
look for toddler girls.
Denim is for babies. Not only
"Baby Guess," but also denim
appliques on lots of cotton
dresses and T-shirts.
Suspenders are also a must for
this age, especially Mickey and
Co., which has created colorful
suspenders of all the favorite
Disney characters. For toddlers,
suspenders are actually used to
hold up their pants!
This season promises to be the
start of a new gym shoe craze, so
don't overlook your children's
feet. Slip-on geometric print
Keds, and high top pastel
Converse All Stars are taking the
early lead.
Robin Fine, manager of Greg
Shoes with locations in West
Bloomfield's Orchard Mall and
Southfield's Evergreen Plaza,
predicted, "Color and canvas are
going to be the biggest look in
sneakers, for both boys and
girls."
Case in point: Converse high
top All Stars, affectionately
referred to as "Chucks," for
basketball star Chuck Taylor,
come in 18 colors, from traditional
black and conservative white to
torquoise, pink and orange.

Surf's Up, Pardner. Have fun
shopping with the kids! 11
