Passover Food
To Be Distributed

Morris Gould, newly
elected president of Maot
Chittim of Detroit, an-
nounced that the organiza-
tion will distribute Passover
food to Metropolitan Detroit's
needy Jewish families from
March 29 to April 1.
Over 500 families are ex-
pected to participate. In addi-
tion to individuals, Maot
Chittim also supplies matzah
to the University of Michigan
B'nai B'rith Hillel Founda-
tion, Jackson Prison and var-

Jewish Appeal national chairman Martin Stein accepted a
check from the residents of the Jewish Federation Apartments
last Sunday, represented by Belle Friedman and Goldie
Borofsky. Leaders announced that with three weeks left in the
Campaign, $20.7 million has been raised.

Telethons Are Planned
Before Campaign Ends

Allied Jewish Campaign
volunteers are preparing for
the closing event with come-
dian Alan King, April 9 at
Adat Shalom Synagogue.
Set for 7 p.m., the party
will include a cocktail buffet
before the program and des-
sert reception afterward.
According to Campaign
Chairmen Paul D. Borman
and Emery I. Klein, the clos-
ing party will provide an
opportunity to recognize the
"tireless dedication of all
those who have pushed this
Campaign toward its goal
during a time of tremendous
increased needs at our local
agencies."
In the Campaign's three
remaining weeks, telethons
are scheduled for the Met-
ropolitan Division at 9:30

a.m. Sunday; general tele-
thon, Monday at 6 p.m.; and
Young Adult Division, March
29 at 9:30 a.m. All telethons
are at the United Hebrew
Schools in Southfield.
