HADASSAH AND YOUTH ALIYAH
TELETHON MARCH 8-APRIL 30
For over 5 decades - Hadas-
sah has been Youth Aliyah's
partner in the rescue and re-
habilitation of some 225,000
youngsters from 80 lands. It
began as a rescue mission to
save Jewish children from
the torments of Nazism. It is
still continuing and growing,
as it finds new ways to help
meet the problems resulting
from wave after wave of im-
migrations. Today, in its 315
Youth Centers, it is helping
20,000 children with a wide
variety of needs to grow into
productive, confident and
successful adults.
This year Greater Detroit
Hadassah will be holding its
Annual Telethon on March
8-April 30. The chairpersons
this year are Faye Krut,
Marilyn Pickover, and Iris
Smith.
Ben and Sadie Sklar
Celebrate
60th Anniversary
by Donating Ambulance
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Sklar
will celebrate their 60th
wedding anniversary in Feb-
ruary. They are honoring the
occasion by donating a new
ambulance to the Hadassah
Medical Organization. The
ambulance will be used at
the Hadassah Hospital in
Jerusalem. Mr. Sklar was
quoted as saying, "To do this
is a lifelong dream."
Helping them celebrate are
their son and daughter-in-
law, Leo and Libby Sklar,
and their four grandchildren.
Sadie Sklar is a life
member of the Carmel Group
of Hadassah. Her husband is
an Hadassah Associate. This
is not the first very generous
contribution the Sklars have
made to Hadassah. In 1982,
in honor of their 55th an-
niversary, they became
Founders.
