The event was arranged by the Survivors Steering Com- mittee, chaired by Abraham Pasternak. Michel has served as executive vice president of the UJA Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York since 1970. A member of the executive committee of the New York Holocaust Memorial Commission, he is on the advisory committee of the United States Holocaust Memorial Council. Born in Germany, Michel came to the United States in 1946, working as a reporter and columnist for the Port Huron Times-Herald. He joined the UJA staff in 1947. Campaign chairman Emery I. Klein will also be on the program.
