A woodland of 5,000 trees
has been planted in the Ken-
nedy Peace Forest by the es-
tate of Rose Mutchnick in her
memory. The woodland will
now create, along with the
Marilyn Mutchnick Her-
shman Memorial Woodland
and the Leon Mutchnick
Memorial Woodland, the
Mutchnick Forest outside the
city of Jerusalem, under the
auspices of Jewish National
Fund.
Mr. Mutchnick served sev-
eral times as chairman of the
board of directors of Young
Israel of Dexter. He was
founder of the Young Israel
of Greenfield and served as
chairman of its board of di-
rectors as well. He helped in
the establishment of 'Akiva

Hebrew Day School and was
actively involved with Bar-
Ilan University, the Technion
and Mizrachi.
Rose Mutchnick was
actively involved with
Hadassah, serving as a life
member in Hadassah, and as
chairman of its Eye Bank.
She also was a member of
Mizrachi, active with the
Friends of Akiva and Hillel
Day schools and was a sup-
porter of Hillel Day School
and the Women of Jewish
National Fund.
Marilyn Mutchnick Her-
shman followed in the fami-
ly's tradition of being a sup-
porter of the Young Israel,
served as an officer of Akiva
Hebrew Day School and City
of Hope.
