seniors. "We get some irate
calls from West Bloomfield,"
says Sally Green, "but up to
this point it hasn't been possi-
ble to have a pick up there."
Repeat excursions or the for-
mation of parallel groups are
among the possibilities.
Up and Out is lining up some
interesting trips for later in the
year, including a visit to the
Michigan Opera Theater. The
committee has determined
that the program's growth will

chairwomen report there has
been no problem with volun-
teer burn-out, largely because
the work is so pleasurable and
rewarding. "They're a wonder-

committee tries to keep the
price affordable and to balance
the more expensive trips ($8
for transportation, snack and
ticket to the Attic Theater, for
example) with plenty of less
expensive ones. Individual
volunteers often anonymously
subsidize seniors who would
not otherwise be able to take
part.
