Levin Announces
Merit Program

Rep. Sander Levin (D-
Southfield) announced plans
for this year's 17th District
Medal of Merit Program. This
program is designed to help
identify and acknowledge
young men and women and
groups of young people who
have demonstrated
exemplary citizenship and a
genuine concern for the wel-
fare of others. Nominations
are sought in four categories:
high school, middle school/
junior high, elementary
school and group.
Nominations in each cate-
gory will be reviewed by a
selection committee com-
prised of community leaders.
Results of their review will
be reported to the Con-
gressman. The medals will be
presented by Rep. Levin late
this spring.
Those interested in pa-
rticipating in the nomination
process are encouraged to
contact Levin's local office,
559-4444, to request forms.
