Advertising Age reported this week that more than 70 persons have been prosecuted in the Miami, Fla. area. Po- stal inspectors and police offi- cials said they have not been able to trace the funds di- rectly to the Palestine Liber- ation Organization. Adnan "Tommy" Bahur was sentenced in Dade County to 2 1/2 years in prison on two felony counts in the scheme. Bahur was vid- eotaped telling an undercover investigator that his group had received $90 million from the coupon scheme, and that he is a nephew of George Habash, leader of the radical Popular Front for the Libera- tion of Palestine. He said he even paid $5 per pound to Zionist groups such as Hadassah for clipped coupons. Officials have not dis- counted the PLO ties because the Bahur family has lived modestly in the Miami area. Officials say related cases are pending in Charleston, S..C., Los Angeles, Tampa, Cleveland and other areas, but Detroit postal inspector James Mock told The Jewish News that there has been no investigation here. any plain leather or suede waist length jacket $5.00 New York (JTA) — The Supreme Court was urged last week to affirm a lower court's decision to revoke the U.S. citizenship of Juozas Kungys, who is accused of participating in the massacre of 2,000 Jewish men, women and children in the forests outside of Kedainiai, Lith- uania in the summer of 1941. Separate amicus briefs were filed by the Anti-Defamation League of B'nai B'rith and the World Jewish Congress, arguing that Kungys' alleged past activities were "mater- ial" to his application for an entry visa to the U.S. after World War II and his subse- quent application for naturalization. He became a citizen in 1954. In June 1986, the U.S. Court of Appeals in Phila- delphia reversed a lower court decision which held that lies told by Kungys to obtain a visa and citizenship were not "material." The reversal was appealed by Kungys.
