At The Whitney

Concerned Citizens for the
Arts in Michigan will sponsor
"Strings in Spring," at The
Whitney on March 29 at 1 p.m.
Following the brunch,
guests will travel a few blocks
up Woodward Avenue to Or-
chestra Hall for a 3:30 p.m. per-
formance by Shlomo Mintz,
conductor and violinist, and
the Detroit Symphony
Chamber Orchestra.
The March 29 brunch and
symphony concert event is a
fund raiser for CCAM, a not-
for-profit statewide coalition of
cultural and educational
organizations, individuals,
and business, labor and gov-
ernment leaders, dedicated to
enhancing awareness and sup-
port of the arts in Michigan
through research, education,
advocacy and communication.

Easter Seals
Telethon Begins

The eighth annual Easter
Seals Telethon will air Satur-
day through Sunday on Chan-
nel 4, beginning 11:30 p.m.
Saturday.
Channel 4 newsman Mort
Crim and Cleveland Browns
quarterback Gary Danielson
will host the local segments,
and Pat Boone and actress
Donna Mills will co-host the
national portions.
Proceeds will provide serv-
ices for the disabled.

Graphology Focus
Of Seminar

The Great Lakes Association
of Handwriting Examiners
will present Roger Rubin,
president of the National
Society of Graphology, March
28 at the Birmingham Country
Club. The day-long seminar
will begin at 8:30 a.m.
There is a fee, and breakfast
