Pelavin, chair- man of the National Jewish Community Relations Advi- sory Council (NJCRAC), will present answers to the ques- tion "If We Are Not a Single Issue Community, Then What Are We?" at the Jewish Com- munity Council's Delegate As- sembly, 8 p.m. March 26, at Cong. B'nai Moshe. The keynote address will focus on the many faceted agenda of the Jewish commu- nity, which reaches far beyond concern for the survival of the State of Israel. Past president and cam- paign chairman of the Flint Jewish Federation, Pelavin has served in many capacities with the United Jewish Appeal (UJA) including chairmanship of the UJA Young Leadership Cabinet in 1973. He serves as a member of the international council and the executive of the world confer- ence on Soviet Jewry. Pelavin is also a board member of the North American Jewish Stu- dent Appeal, ORT, HIAS, and the American Friends of He- brew University, and is a member of the commission on social action of Reform Judaism. Among Pelavin's other vol- unteer commitments are a broad membership on the Anti-Defamation League Holocaust advisory committee, a seat on the executive com- mittee of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC), and a board of direc- tors membership of the Council of Jewish Federations. The Jewish Community Council Delegates Assembly is open to the community and free of charge.
