The TAX-AIDE program
employs three means of provid-
ing tax filing counseling to re-
tirees and seniors: one-on-one
counseling at designated
TAX-AIDE counseling cen-
ters, set up in community cen-
ters, libraries, senior citizen
centers and other locations;
limited tax counseling via the
program's telephone informa-
tion lines; and on a select basis,
visits to shut-in or handi-
capped seniors.

Pancake Breakfast
For Senior Adults
The Southfield Senior Adult
Center will host a pancake
breakfast in its dining room,
24350 Civic Center Dr., from
8:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday.
There is a charge. The pro-
ceeds from this event will be
presented to the Senior Arts
League.

discuss selections to be per-
formed at the Coffee Concert
March 13, including Torke's
Ecstatic Orange, Stravinsky's
Symphony of Psalms and
Tchaikovsky's Violin Concerto.
Financial advice for seniors
will be the topic of Tuesday's
lecture in the Assembly Hall at
1 p.m.
The first part of the movie,
Oklahoma, will be shown by
Archie Leslie in the JPM as-
sembly hall at 2:00 p.m. Tues-
day.
The Senior Adult Choir,
under the direction of Vivian
Stollman and accompanied by
Celia Dzodin, will rehearse in
Room 15 at 12:30 p.m. Wed-
nesday.
The Press Review, a weekly
current events group, will
meet Thursday in room 15 of
the JPM at 1 p.m.
The Yiddish Reading Circle
will convene in the assembly
hall at 10:30 a.m. March 6.
There will be a Games Day,
including refreshments and
prizes, in Jaffe Hall at 1:30
p.m. March 8.

Tax Assistance
Program For Aged
This month the American
Association of Retired Persons
(AARP) in Michigan kicks off
its 1987 tax assistance pro-
gram for seniors, called TAX-
AIDE, with support from NBD
Bancorp banks across the
state.
TAX-AIDE is a nationwide
program operating under
agreement with the Internal
Revenue Service Tax Counsel-
ing for the Elderly program.
The free program runs through

The For Women Only Club
will host its fourth annual con-
cert at 11 a.m., March 6 in Jaffe
Hall of the Jewish Center's
Jimmy Prentis Morris Branch.
Mezzo soprano Alice Blum-
berg will entertain. Ms. Blum-
berg began her professional
singing career at age 4. Using
the name Alice Kaye, she sang
on the excursion boat from
Cleveland to Cedar Point with
Mickey Katz. At age 7 she was
discovered by Cleveland radio
and stage personality Al
Cameron and became his pro-
tege. She appeared with him
regularly until he left the
Cleveland area to work with
the Marx Brothers.
She appeared weekly on the
Gene and Glenn radio show
and worked throughout the
country with Kaye Ballard,
Frank Gorshin, Jack Soo and
