Jerusalem — A blueprint for
a recovery program involving
the elimination of over 500
administrative, technical and
academic positions was pre-
sented this week by the
president of the Hebrew Uni-
versity of Jerusalem to the
executive committee of the
university's board of gover-
nors.
The university also plans to
implement other reductions in
costs and to generate more in-
come from its activities, while
still attempting, through
structural changes, to main-
tain a high level of academic
activity.
University academic, tech-
nical and administrative
workers have already agreed
to take pay cuts this year
which will save the university
6.5 million shekels.

To Meet
Jerusalem — Applications
are now being accepted for the
Summer Institute for Jewish
Educators of the Samuel Men-
del Melton Centre for Jewish
Education in the Diaspora of
the Hebrew University of
Jerusalem.
The institute brings to-
gether educators from many
countries and various
pedagogic backgrounds and
orientations. Both seminars
and enrichment courses are of-
fered in two two-week sessions,
the first from June 29-July 14,
and the second from July
12-29.
