Unrest Continues
On West Bank,
Gaza Strip
Jerusalem (JTA) — Unrest
continued in the West Bank
and Gaza Strip. A small ex-
plosive device detonated
under a parked car outside
Meir Hospital in Kfar Sab
last Sunday. There were no in-
juries, but the hospital direc-
tor expressed concern that
the hospital was a target of
terrorists.
Three Israeli soldiers were
injured when stones were
thrown at a bus on the Jeru-
salem-Ramallah highway.
There were no injuries from a
Molotov cocktail thrown at a
bus parked outside Gaza
police headquarters.
Israeli authorities attribute
disturbances in the West
Bank to the situation in
Lebanon where the Shiite
Moslem militia, Amal,
blocked food supplies from
reaching a Palestinian refugee
camp outside Beirut. Nation-
alist elements organized a
general strike in Ramallah
despite efforts by the civil ad-
ministration to avert it.

New Liver
Seattle(JTA) — Dianne and
Alben Teufel carry a telephone
pager wherever they go, hop-
ing to get word that a liver has
been found for their one-year
old son Alexander.
Doctors at UCLA, where the
liver transplant would be per-
formed, hinted that without
the new organ, Alexander may
have only months to live.
Mother and child recently
went to Los Angeles to be close
to UCLA.
Alexander was born with _ out
a bile duct, which drains the
liver. An operation to fashion
one from a piece of his intestine
was successful only temporar-
ily. Last September, he de-
veloped a serious infection
caused by bacteria from his in-
testine moving to the liver. He
recovered, but his liver was
scarred, his mother said.
The Teufels' congregation,
Temple Beth Am, has begun
raising funds to help the family
with expenses associated with
the baby's treatment.
