HERE'S HOW TO GET THE

real traditional," states
Weisserman. She's selling
some traditional
invitations on pearlized
ivory paper, and some even
have a modern flair with
subtle, embossed flowers.
Weisserman mentions
that the traditional
invitations are moderately
priced. When asked to
describe them she stated:
"They're classic invitations.
They look just like the ones
I used 30 years ago."

And A
Honeymoon In
Cooperstown?

an Francisco — The dia-
mond representing this
wedding was underfoot.
Mike Zimmerman and Bar-
bara Ellison were wed last
month on the field of
Candlestick Park, home
stadium of the San Fran-
cisco Giants major league
baseball team.
"He always wanted to be
married at honie plate,"
Beverly Zimmerman, the
groom's mother, told the
Northern California Jewish
Bulletin. The groom is a
physical education teacher
and baseball fanatic.
The small ceremony had
many baseball touches. The
chuppah was an adorned
batting cage; the score-
board flashed "Mazel Tov"
and the names of the
guests; and the groom
changed into his tux at the
former locker of baseball
great Willie Mays. Rabbi
Herbert Morris wore a
catcher's mask and noted
how "two singles were
about to become a double."
Afterward, the couple
marched from the chuppah
under an arch of decorated
baseball bats, presumably
to an extended home stand.

In Other Lands

Tn Japan, bridal couples

ltake nine sips of sake, a
rice wine. They become hus-
band and wife after the
first sip.
Marry on December 31 in
Ireland, the day the Irish
consider the luckiest one
for weddings.
In India, the groom's
brother sprinkles flower
petals on the bridal couple
at the end of the ceremony.
The Belgian bride em-
broiders her name on her
bridal day handkerchief,
frames it and keeps it until
it's time for the next family
bride to marry.
