For Best Man
E
very person in the wed-
ding entourage has
specific duties to perform
that will aid the bride and
groom, and one of the ma-
jor players in every wed-
ding scenario is the best
man.
Usually a good friend of
the groom, the best man
takes on a great many im-
portant wedding duties, the
most familier of which is
holding the bride's ring un-
til the ceremony, then
presenting it to the groom
who then places it on the
bride's finger.
Planning the bachelor
party is also left up to the
best man. He makes all ar-
rangements regarding time
place and refreshments and
takes care of the guest list.
If the wedding is sched-
uled for the following day,
it usually falls upon the
best man to make sure that
the groom doesn't overdo it
on his last night of
bachelorhood.
In other words, the best
man must get the grbom to
the wedding on time. Once
there, he helps him dress
and otherwise prepare for
the ceremony.
After the service is over,
the best man will usually
drive the newlyweds to the
reception and preside as of-
ficial toastmaster.
