the Identity Churches or the
Aryan Nation or some other
gutter rats, easy to identify
and easy to render impotent if
there is a will to do so, but the
well-placed anti-Semite who
doesn't know that he is an
anti-Semite.
Why can't Eichmann and
Artukovic and Trifa be forgi-
ven and forgotten? Because the
only ones who have the right to
forgive, apart from the Lord
Himself, are the dead vic-
tims. . . Because forgetfulness
is the road to exile. . .

Kahane May
Lose Immunity

Tel Aviv (JTA) — Jerusalem
police have recommended that
Rabbi Meir Kahane, leader of
the extremist Kach Party, be
stripped of his parliamentary
immunity so that he can be
brought to trial on charges of
incitement to violence, Israel
Radio reported.
The charges stem from
Kahane's remarks on televi-
sion six week ago calling for
the establishment of a "second
Jewish underground." That
was Kahane's reaction to a
police search for concealed
weapons in the Shuvu Banim
Yeshiva in the Old City whose
students had been attacking
and harassing Arabs. The inci-
dents followed the fatal stab-
bing of 22-year-old yeshiva
student-Eliahu Amdi whose al-
leged assailants were promptly
arrested.
Kahane's public advocacy of
a new Jewish underground
was seen as incitement be-
cause 27 members of a Jewish
underground in the West Bank
were convicted two years ago of
acts of violence against Arabs.
Several of its members are still
serving their prison sentences.
If convicted of incitement,
Kahane would face up to five
years in prison.

New 'Church'
Monitored

Kansas City(JTA) — Jewish
communal leaders are keeping
watch for further develop-
ments in the proposed forma-
tion of a church affiliated with
the Christian Identity move-
ment, a melange of right-wing,
white supremacist, anti-
Semitic groups and individuals
active nationally under the
guise of a "church".
The church conducted its
first meeting last month in
Grandview, Mo., a suburb of
Kansas City, and plans to meet
again in the future. Between
50 and 75 people, most of them
white males, attended the pri-
vate gathering at Grandview's
Heritage Inn on Jan. 17. A sec-
ond meeting the following day
attracted 25 persons.
