Their first group project for 1987 involves a discussion group based on the six-part WTVS/Channel 56 mini-series "Eyes on the Prize," which deals with the Civil Rights movement in the United States from 1954 to 1965. Purpose of the Youth Ex- change project is to dispel some of the misconceptions about the city of Detroit held by many suburban residents, help promote understanding among different parts of the commu- nity, and to allow development of associations between urban and suburban youth. Project participants include Julie Stein, president, Lysa Stein, and Carrie Bree Rice of Machar BBG and Glenn Gayer, president, Bill Neus- chaefer, Jonathan and Jeff Dwoskin, Howard Rosher and Jeff Gruca of Kishon AZA as well as several MDYF repre- sentatives. Adult supervision is being provided by Roger Winkelman, Jewish Community Council Urban Affairs Subcommittee pi Sylvan Learning Center® Because success begins with the basics.
