The Detroit-based Michigan
Opera Theatre (MOT) will pay
tribute to the state's Ses-
quicentennial with its 13th
annual Michigan Opera
Theatre-In-Residence tour.
Entitled "A Celebration of
Michigan," the 1987 tour is
presented as part of Michigan
Opera Theatre's 16th anniver-
sary season. Beginning Mon-
day, this 11-week state-wide
tour features a musical revue
of Michigan-composed and
published works and a new
one-act opera based on Great
Lakes Indian folklore for stu-
dents in grades K through 12.
The featured highlight of the
tour will be a full-length public
performance of American com-
poser John Philip Sousa's
comic operetta El Capitan. For

will present its ninth annual
Bowl for Breath fund raiser
Feb. 15 at 25 area bowling cen-
ters.
Participants will compete for
prizes by obtaining sponsors to
pledge a minimum of a penny
for every point that is scored in
a total of three games. A
minimum of five sponsors is
required.
