She left the work force to get married and raise her daughter, Tracey, now 13. Glover said she's happy with the strides women have made in broadcast. Although, she says there is no specific role for women, they should be part of the general scheme of things. "I think when women really just are assimilated into the grand scheme of things then that says the most for women. I think women who are suc- cessful certainly are healthy role models for our children, for example. I don't think they need to get on the air and scream 'I am a woman, look at me, look what I've achieved.' "It's happening and it's hap- pening slowly in TV, but there are more and more women on the air in the top positions not just subordinate positions. `,1 think it's very healthy. Locally, I don't think stations could survive without women. We have very strong women in this town. But I don't see that one role should be either a woman's or a man's role. For example, what I'm doing here at Four could've been handled by a man or me. That's the way I think it should be. I think that we (women) should be as- similated." Being Jewish has never in- terfered with Glover's career. In fact, it was never a factor at all. She isn't active in Jewish community organizations, but is a member of Temple Beth El. She speaks before Jewish organizations when invited, and added that as she gets older her Judaism is "getting more important." In Detroit for the past 11 years, Glover says she plans to stick around for a while. "I'm not running out of here. I'm too connected to people here." And she said she feels there is a lot of opportunity in Detroit as well. What does she find so attrac- tive about broadcasting? "Get- ting paid to have a good time. "Most of what I've done is an awful lot of work. There's an awful lot of pressure. When you're actually working it's a natural high. It is fun." ❑ FOR TWO Expires 2-12-87 COOLIGE AT 9 MILE RD.
