Board of Trustees elected
Bruce E. Thal as president at
its December meeting. The
board also re-elected Merle A.
Harris and elected Marvin
Fleischman and Thomas I.
Klein to serve as vice
presidents.
Other officers elected for
1987 were Carolyn Greenberg
as secretary and Richard F.
Roth as treasurer.
Thal, a partner of the Touche
Ross & Company accounting
firm, has served on Sinai's
board since 1982. He prev-
iously served as Sinai's finance
committee chairman and trea-
surer.
He is on the boards of the
Jewish Welfare Federation
and United Jewish Charities,
and was chairman of the Fed-
eration Community Services
division. He is a past president
of the National Association of
Jewish Vocational Services
and on the board of the United
Foundation.

Christian Clergy
Invited to Seder

Endowment Fund

Franklin J. Ellias, Jewish
Community Council vice
president, and Betty -Rotberg
Ellias, Council Holocaust Sub-
committee member, will repre-
sent the Council at the sixth
annual Passover workshop for
Christian clergy to be con-
ducted by Rabbi Lane Steinger
on March 18 at Temple
Emanu-El.
Co-sponsored by the Council,
Temple Emanu-El and the
Temple Emanu-El Sisterhood,
this workshop is presented for
Christian clergy, religious
educators, and church leaders
who have never been exposed
to a Passover Seder.
Sandra Barron, Temple
Emanu-El Sisterhood •
president, is arranging to pro-
vide the ritual foods that ac-
company the Seder.
Temple Emanu-El President
Jeffrey Mossoff will greet the
participants, who will be taken
on a guided tour through the
synagogue by Rabbi Steinger
prior to the workshop.
Invitations to attend the
workshop were issued by the
Christian Communication
Council of Metropolitan De-
troit Churches as a part of their
monthly newsletter. Over 100
Christian leaders are expected
to respond.

M. Zeltzer, who retired in De-
cember.
For the past five years, Im-
berman was director of the
Foundation of Jewish Philan-
thropies of the Greater Miami
Jewish Federation, and he
brings 15 years of experience
in grant making and fund rais-
ing to his new position.
Before joining the Miami
Federation, Imberman was di-
rector of the Columbus Found-
ation and a grants adminis-
trator with the Otto Bremer
Foundation in St. Paul, Minn.
A native of New York City,
Imberman is an honors
graduate of Washington Uni-
versity, St. Louis, from which
he received both a bachelors
degree in history and educa-
tion, and a masters of educa-
tion in counseling. He earned a
PhD in educational adminis-
tration from the University of
Minnesota.
Imberman will begin his
new post in April.

Joseph C. Imberman will
join the Jewish Welfare Feder-
ation staff as director of its
Federated Endowment Fund,
it was announced by Federa-
tion Executive Vice President
Martin Kraar.
Imberman succeeds George

Jerusalem — A new spe-
cialty leading to a B.A. degree
in Christian studies has been
instituted this year in the de-
partment of comparative reli-
gion of the Hebrew University
of Jerusalem.
