Jack Erman, founder and
owner of Bedroom Center, Inc.,
died Jan. 29 at age 77.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio,
Mr. Erman founded his com-
pany in 1966. He was chair-
man of the board and president
three times of the Furniture
Club of Detroit. Mr. Erman
also was president of the club's
child welfare division. He in-
cluded cabinet making among
his interests.
He was one of the 12 original
founders of the Crescent
Shrine Club and was a 32nd
degree Masonand a member of
Perfection Lodge of the Ma-
sons, B'nai B'rith and Cong.
Shaarey Zedek. On Jan. 6,
1985, Mr. Erman ws the De-
troit Free Pressvolunteer of the
week.

Acknowledges with grateful appreciation the

MORRIS LIEBERMAN

The directors and officers of Ampal-American
Israel Corporation mourn the passing of Morris
Lieberman, member of the board of directors and
executive committee of Ampal. Lieberman, a direc-
tor of the corporation since 1964, served with dedi-
cation and distinction. A staunch Zionist, his par-
ticipation of longstanding was the fulfillment of a
lifetime of service to Israel. His counsel will be
sorely missed. Our sincerest condolence to his wife
Pearl and their family.

Rose Harris, operator of a
foster home for Jewish chil-
dren, died Jan. 23 at age 97.
Born in Russia, Mrs. Harris
came to Canada at age 16 and
to the U.S. when she was 20.
From 1934 to 1964, Mrs. Har-
ris took about 150 children into
her state-licensed home and
remained in contact with many
of them after they left.
Known as "Bubbie" to her
charges, Mrs. Harris prepared
all the children's meals,
packed them lunches and
disciplined them. She had
14-15 children at a time in the
home, and was noted for treat-
ing them as if they were her
own.
She is survived by a son, Les-
ter Yollick; a daughter, Mrs.
Pauline "Pat" Gorman of Las
Vegas, Nev.; nine grand-
children and six great-grand-
children.
