This six-week study tour offers five distinct Discovery Plus pro- grams, each program havings its own special schedule ac- cording to its particular orien- tation. ISI — Political Paradox will focus on Israeli and world poli- tics and government. ISI — Daber Ivrit will focus on learn- ing and using Hebrew while on the trip. ISI — Great Outdoors will spend additional time hik- ing, climbing, camping out and learning about nature and the land. ISI — Archeological Ad- venture will spend time on an archeological dig working alongside field archeologists. ISI — Time Tunnel will focus on relationships of modern Is- rael with Biblical events and persons. The ISI program is open only to registered mem- bers of AZA and BBG. Michigan Region has kicked off its 1987 membership drive, which will run through March 31. The theme of the drive is "BBYO — The Magic Is Here!" and the goal is for chapters to reach out to unaffiliated Jewish youth and bring them an awareness of all thatBBYO has to offer. Those who recruit new members during the drive will be invited to participate in a special BBYO Day at Boblo on May 31. Each AZA and BBG chapter has been assigned a membership goal for chapter recognition. The drive is being coordinated by Council Mem- bership Vice Presidents Sara Voight and Lorne Gold. The BBG Council and B'nai B'rith Women's Council will hold a joint luncheon program Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in the multi-purpose room (115) of the Southfield Civic Center. The theme of the program is "The Changing Morals of Our Society" and the featured speaker is Deanne Ginns Gruenberg, director of educa- tion for Womancare. All BBGers and their mothers are invited. The next meetings of the AZA and BBG Councils, re- spectively, will be held 7 p.m. Monday and Thursday in the Dubin Meeting Room at the B'nai B'rith Building. The Akiva team has recently come under the sponsorship of the Elitzur Youth Organiza- tion, which promotes sports ac- tivities for Orthodox Jewish youth in Israel, Europe and America. With a 4-1 record so far this season, the Akiva cagers have played teams from the AZA, Southfield-Lathrup High and the Akiva alumni and faculty. At the tournament, Akiva will play against teams from HAFTR, Yeshiva University High School (Los Angeles) and Bloch Yeshiva of St. Louis, Mo.
