much to gain by entering into
negotiations with the PLO. If
such negotiations show them
to be still committed to the re-
jectionist provisions of their
covenant, the world would see
that it is the Palestinians who
stand in the way of peace.
Neither the Israeli peace
movement nor its supporters in
the U.S. support peace on such
terms.
However, if negotiations
show that the objectionable
provisions of the covenant are
no longer operative and that
the Palestinians are finally
willing to make peace with the
Jewish State, then Israel could
finally be freed from the state
of continual conflict and
periodic war which poses the
greatest threat to its continued
existence.

prehensive ad vocational high

day, at the Labor Zionist Insti-

Agami was born in Haifa
and served in the army in an
educational and cultural
capacity. He was among the
founders of the young leader-
ship of the Labor Party and
elected its secretary.
In 1974, he was elected sec-
retary of the Haifa region of
the Labor Party and member of
the National Central Body of
the party. He was elected, in
1981, chairman of the Amal
network and chairman of the
committee for the advance-
ment of technical and profes-
sional training and education.
The meeting is open to the
