the parents of the kids involved
together, and tell them to con-
trol their kids. If they don't
manage to, they will be fined.
For parents who really can't
control them, perhaps the par-
ents should be made to take
away the kids' cars, or remove
their privileges — whatever it
takes to keep them controlled."
Several teens at the meeting
complained they are bored at
night and have nothing to do.
Suggestions were offered about
a place for them, in the style of
"Arnolds" from the television
series Happy Days. Many felt
that area merchants were no
longer giving teens the benefit
of the doubt, and were treating
all unfairly. The complaint of
boredom was shot down by sev-
eral adults who suggested
more involvement in high
school after-hours activities.
Other parents suggested

that adults should patronize
establishments where the
teens hang out, and that par-
ents be aware of where their
teens are on Friday and Satur-
day nights, and control them.
"It's a very complex, social
problem, something that's
been going on for years," said
Sgt. Nebus.
It will require time and pa-
tience.
