As part of its continuing
weekend Detroit Film Theatre
series, the Detroit Institute of
Arts will present four show-
ings of the new documentary
film on Jewish resistance dur-
ing the Second World War, The
Partisans of Vilna.
The film will be presented on
Feb. 13 and 14 at 7 and 9:30
p.m. in the auditorium of the
Detroit Institute of Arts, 5200
Woodward Ave. Tickets are
available at the door of the per-
formance, or in advance at the
art institute ticket office by
mail or in person.
Partisans of Vilna, was di-
rected by Josh Waletsky and
produced by former Detroiter
Aviva Kempner.
For individual ticket or
group sales information, phone
the Detroit Institute of Arts
ticket office seven days a week,
from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., 832-
2730.
In advance of the public
showings of Partisans of Vilna,
there will be a benefit per-
formance at 8 p.m. Feb. 12 at
the Maple Theater.
Proceeds from the benefit
will go to the Holocaust cur-
riculum for Oakland County
Intermediate Schools, cur-
rently being prepared by Dr.
Sid Bolkosky and Betty Ellias.
The public is Invited, and
donations are tax deductible.

Cabaret Night
At B'nai Moshe

The men's club, sisterhood
and cultural commission of
B'nai Moshe will present a
cabaret night featuring Nancy
Gurwin at 8 p.m. Jan. 24 at the
synagogue.
Ms. Gurwin will perform a
musical tribute to Broadway in I
honor of Jewish Music Month.
Ms. Gurwin is known locally
for producing and performing
in local dinner theater. She has
also recently performed in and
producedFunny Girl andDiary
of Anne Frank at the Jewish
Community Center.
The cabaret night will in-
clude refreshments. Tickets
are available in advance or at
