Committees Organize Super Sunday Telethon There's much more to the Al- lied Jewish Campaign's Super Sunday, set for Feb. 1, than a room filled with telephones. There are endless details: making the community aware of the event, briefing volun- teers on effective solicitation and creating decorations to enhance the upbeat mood of the massive telephone appeal. Under the direction of chairmen Diane J. Klein and Michael Maddin, committee chairmen are already coor- dinating the effort to reach several thousand homes in the metropolitan area. Funds raised on Super Sunday will help the Campaign's 20 local human service agencies and more than 60 additional be- neficiaries in Israel and elsewhere overseas. - According to Ben Rosenthal and Susan Citrin, who are handling worker training and recruitment, their committee will work with volunteers prior to their telephone shifts to facilitate effective solicitation. Rosenthal noted that workers are still needed for telephone and clerical work on Super Sunday. Committee chairmen in- clude Sally Mayer and Janice Schwartz, worker registration; Lois Falk and Mickey Grossman, clerical; and Ber- nard Kent and Wendy Eichen- baum, tabulation. To help mobilize the community-wide phase of the Campaign prior to Super Sun- day, Federation's Women's Di- vision Phonogift telethon is al- ready underway. Hundreds of volunteers will be calling De- troit area women until this Sunday, asking them to renew their commitment to the Jewish People. Babysitting services will be available on Super Sunday. For further information or to sign up as a volunteer, contact Leonard Milstone at Federa- tion, 965-3939.
