Women of the Jewish Welfare
Federation on Jan. 28.
The meeting will begin with
cocktails at 6 p.m. at Adat
Shalom Synagogue, with
dinner following.
Watson's tenure at the Free
Press began with her gradua-
tion from the University of
Michigan's Honors College in
1965.
A reporter and city editor be-
fore being named Free Press
columnist four years ago, Wat-
son has won many honors for
investigative reporting, in-
cluding first place awards for
news columns from both
United Press International
and the Associated Press.

Greater Detroit Chapter,
Hadassah will present the
Klezmer Conservatory band
"Phantom West" in concert on
Tuesday at Temple Beth El to
benefit Hadassah Israel Edu-
cation Services. .
Doris Chandler, Hadassah
program vice president, and
Kathy Sklar, chapter HIES
chairman, have announced
that the proceeds from the con-
cert will be used to establish a
Detroit Chapter — Hadassah
scholarship fund which will
enable an Israeli student to ob-
tain schooling at an academic

facility, sponsored by Hadas-
sah in Israeli: Hadassah Com-
munity College, Hadassah
Vocational Guidance Institute,
Hadassah Seligsberg-Brandeis
Comprehensive High School.
The Hadassah Seligsberg-
Brandeis Comprehensive High
School resulted from a merger
of Hadassah Alice Seligsberg
Comprehensive High School
and Brandeis Vocational
Training Center.
The two-year Hadassah
Community College prepares
450 students for para-
professional posts and hi-tech
