two will speak on "Superwo-

The Greater Detroit Section,
National Council of Jewish
Women will hold a two-session
training program for new vol-
unteers for its CASA Legal
Guardianship Program, Jan.
22 and 23.
CASAs are Court-Appointed
Special Advocates who are
trained by both NCJW and the
court to work on behalf of
youngsters.
Women will be given infor-
mation on the program, which
provides home studies and in-
vestigations for all legal
guardianship cases within the
jurisdiction of the Oakland
County Probate Court. They
will be trained in how to do
home investigations and, fol-
lowing formal instruction,
they will each be teamed with
an experienced CASA worker.
The Jan. 22 session will take
place at 9:30 a.m. at the NCJW
office, Suite 100, 30233 South-
field Road, Southfield. On Jan.
23, the women will meet in the
second floor conference room of
thoeus.

The program is directed by
the section's public affairs de-
partment, headed by Ann
Zousmer. Marilyn Levine and
Marcia Aaron serve as chair-

conference planning meeeting,

The conference will be
hosted by Cong. of Moses Sis-
terhood, Kalamazoo, on May
17 and 18. The theme will be
"The Time Is Now."
Lillian Rubinoff of Philadel-
phia, Pa., will be the consul-
tant speaker.
There will be workshops,
Torah study, morning services,
fellowship, discussions, buzz

David Lawrence

The Jewish Welfare Federa-
tion Women's Division "Food
for Thought" series continues
with its second luncheon at
noon Jan. 16 at the Somerset
Inn in Troy.
David Lawrence Jr. will ad-
dress the group, which focuses
on current issues affecting the
local Jewish community.
Lawrence is publisher and
chairman of the Detroit Free
Press.
