Has Bat Mitzvah
Rebbecca Poger will observe
her bat mitzvah on Saturday at
Adat Shalom Synagogue. She
was prepared by her grand-
mother, Sophie Barkman, of
Flint, a Hebrew teacher, who
also prepaa. I her son for his
bar mitzvah and another
granddaughter, as well as
numerous northern Michigan
and Flint area youths for their
b'nai mitzvah.
To commemorate the occa-
sion, Rebecca and her grand-
mother will go to Israel in Ap-
ril, where they will celebrate
Pesach (participating in a
seder on a kibbutz), Yom
HaZikaron, and Yom
HaAtzmaut. She will observe a
second bat mitzvah on Masada,
and plans to visit Rebekka
Levina, grandmother of Ann
Levine of Leningrad, Russia,
Rebecca's bat mitzvah twin.
Rebecca is the daughter of
Leonard and Judy Poger of
Westland.
Music Hall
Visit Planned
City of Southfield Tours will
travel to the Music Hall Jan.
25 to se The Mikado, performed
by the original cast from Strat-
ford, Ont. The trip includes
motorcoach transportation to
and from the Music Hall and
orchestra seating.
