Am l?' has passed into song
legend, I guess. And to meet
again 25 years later is an ex-
traordinary experience. It's
strange — and very special."
He has had other special
relationships; indeed, Newley
long has felt an affinity for
the life of Charlie Chaplin.
Musical attempts at staging
that life have not met with
success, however.
"I am at a crossroads," says
Newley. "I may not be in
show business in two, three
years.
"I am just going to go with
whatever occurs. I feel free-
dom. What I have done for a
living is not always what has
made me happy. Maybe,"
says Newley, "there's another
life that awaits me."
