a

A recent parlor meeting,
co-hosted by Archbishop Ed-
mund Szoka of Detroit and
Irving and Barbara Nusbaum
of Franklin to benefit the
Ecumenical Institute for
Jewish-Christian Studies,
generated more than $75,000.
More than 90 people
attended the' meeting the
first time that Christians and
Jews have joined forces to
benefit an ecumenical organ-
ization in this way.
The Ecumenical Institute
for Jewish-Christian Studies
is a non-profit educational
organization designed to im-
prove relations and under-
standing between and among
Christians and Jews.
The funds generated by
this meeting will be used to
support a new series of Lay
School for Ecumenical
Studies classes, to expand the
institute's youth and adult
dialogue/encounter sessions,
as well as laying the
groundwork for a regular
television talk-show explor-
ing issues related to Jewish-
Christian relations.
For information on the
Ecumenical Institute, contact
Frank Morgan or Barbara
Yuhas, 353-2434.
