troit Metropolitan Center for
High Technology. In 1984, he
became president of Ovonic
Synthetic Materials Co., Inc.
Harwood authored more
than 70 articles and edited
five books in the fields of
materials developments and
the management and plan-
ning of industrial research.
Harwood has served on
numerous govrernment com-
mittees.
Harwood is past president
of the Detroit Chapter,
American Technion Society;
Cong. Beth Shalom and the
United Hebrew Schools. He
serves on the board of direc-
tors of Technion, UHS and
the Midrasha; and on the
quality of life subcommittee
of the Jewish Welfare Feder-
ations' committee on identifi-
cation and affiliation. In past
years he chaired the
engineers and scientists di-
vision of the Allied Jewish
Campaign.
He is a member of Bir-
mingham Temple, the Detroit
Coalition of Secular and
Humanistic Jewish Organiza-
tions and on the hoard of di-
rectors of the International
Institute of Secular and
Humanistic Judaism in
Jerusalem.

hold a Chanukah Bazaar, 11
a.m. Sunday, at Cong. Beth
Israel, 2000 Washtenaw Ave.,
Ann Arbor.
The bazaar will feature ac-
tivities for children including
games, prizes, and a "Make a
