Athens (JTA) — A joint
advertising program aimed at
reinforcing tourism to Greece
and Israel will be imple-
mented by the two countries
in the United State and
Canada, a National Economy
Ministry announcement said
last week.
It said the details of the
program and when it would
be implemented were agreed
by National Economy Dep-
uty Minister Panayiotis
Roumeliotis and Israeli
'Iburism and Justice Minister
Avraham Sharir during the
Greek official's recent visit to
Israel.
The two countries also
reviewed tourism cooperation
and agreed to bilateral rein-
forcement measures. In addi-
tion, it said Roumeliotis had
told a press conference in
Israel that Culture Minister
Melina Mercouri would visit
Israel in 1987.

Seeks Israeli
Pilot POW
Geneva (JTA) — The Red
Cross delegates in Lebanon
were recently asked to try
and contact the Israeli pilot
who is in prison there. The
spokeswoman of the Interna-
tional Committee of the Red
Cross said that following a re-
quest by the Israeli govern-
ment their delegates in
Lebanon have been asked to
visit the Israeli pilot accord-
ing to ICRC regulations.
So far there has been no
progress but the ICRC is try-
ing to obtain information, she
added.

Jewish studies program was
founded this autumn at Stan-
ford University, Palo Alto,
Calif., according to the North-
ern California Jewish Bulle-
tin. A centerpiece of the pro-
