AUBURN BRASS

Art History
Topic For Seniors

The senior adult depart-
ment of the Jewish Commu-
nity Center will present
Rabbi Joseph Gutmann, art
historian, at 1 p.m. Tuesday
in the Jimmy Prentis Morris
Branch of the Jewish Com-
munity Center assembly hall.
Following the lecture, at 2
p.m. Archie Leslie will pre-
sent a travelogue.
Chana Klein will conduct a
Jewish literature class in the
JPM library at 10:30 a.m.
Wednesday.
Sinai Hospital will conduct
a special hearing screening at
1 p.m. Thursday in the JPM
assembly hall.
Health screenings are held
at 1 p.m. Thursdays at the
Morris Branch. The program
includes diagnostic screening
and testing, limited medical
evaluations and referrals to
physicians and facilities and
health education and infor-
mation. The screenings are
held in room 10 and are free
of charge to seniors.
The Writers Corner group,
under the direction of Norma
Goldman, will meet at 9:30
a.m. Dec. 5 at the JPM
Branch.
The Rose Morgan Chorale,
featuring Sylvia Halliburton,
will perform at 2 p.m. Dec. 7
in Jaffe Hall of the JPM
Branch. There is charge.

Center Begins
Satellite Program

The senior adult depart-
ment of the Jewish Commu-
nity Center is developing
satellite outreach programs
for senior adults living be-
tween the two branches of
the Jewish Community Cen-
ter, but reluctant to drive far
distances.
The first program will be
held on Thursday, at 1 p.m.
at the Parkcrest Apts'. meet-
ing room, 27559 Lahser,
Southfield. Entertainment
will be provided by orchestra
leader, Sam Barnett, and
Cantor Max Shimansky of
Cong. Beth Achim.
There is no admission
charge. For reservations or
information, contact Judy
Samson, 967-4030.

Park, first prize; the Warren
Tessler family of West
Bloomfield, first prize; the
Eisenberg family of South-
field, second prize.
Natural decorations only:

Bloomfield, first prize; the
Lupovitch family of West
Bloomfield, second prize.
The following are the first
place winners in the group
division: Most colorful suc-
cah: Hillel Day School and
Jewish Parents Institute.
Largest succah: Bais Chabad
of West Bloomfield. Most tra-
ditional succah: Hashachar/
Hadassah.
All participants received
certificates from the Center.
The winners received special
ribbons and their names are
engraved on plaques hanging
in the lobby of the main
Jewish Community Center.

Medicare Focus
Of Center Seniors

Seniors at the main Jewish
Community Center can dis-
cuss Medicare insurance with
Anna Mickel at 10 a.m. Mon-
day in room 239.
A program on "Holiday
Crime Prevention" will be
held at 1 p.m. Monday in
room 239 of the main Jewish
Center for senior adults. Lt.
Dan Pitsos of the West
Bloomfield Police Department
will present tips on personal
safety.
Columnist and television
personality Grace Gluskin
will meet the senior adults at
11 a.m. Thursday in room
239 at the main Center for a
humanities workshop. The
topic of the workshop is "The
American Family in Litera-
ture and History," and will
focus on the writings of
Wyatt Cooper and Henry
David Thoreau. The program
is free and open to the public.
