affluent or the under-
privileged. Vitriolic denunci-
ations of the State of Israel
and attacks on Zionism are
yet another form of anti-
Semitism and its most abhor-
rent manifestation is found
among "scholars" who deny
or distort the historical re-
cord of the Holocaust.
When others treat us as
"strangers" we have both the
right and the responsibility
to refute such rejection and
libels and demand our right-
ful place in a society whose
very being depends on fair-
ness and equity.
And yet, we should also
recognize that we, as Jews,
have found in this land the
freedom, opportunity and
welcome that should move us
to profound gratitude. More
than any other generation of
the Diaspora, we can feel at
home in this country, and
bear witness to our unique
faith and heritage with pride
and without danger.

tians, the Holocaust, Israel
