Bea Feigelman, president
of the Women of Jewish Na-
tional Fund, announces that
the women will have their
57th annual donor luncheon
on Dec. 9 at Cong. Shaarey
Zedek.
The women have commit-
ted $250,000 in order to es-
tablish a sports field, land-
scaping and recreational
facilities at the Beit Bluma
School for Girls in Petach
Tikvah.
The Beit Bluma School was
founded 28 years ago to an-
swer the need of many young
ladies who came from
families with socio-economic
problems. There are presently
over 100 girls registered at
the school.
A sports field, which will
include basketball, volleyball
and tennis, will provide a
new dimension to the level of
facilities and opportunities
for physical activities for
these girls. In addition, the
women of JNF will provide
the landscaping.
dormitory
Additional
facilities are being planned
which will increase the
number of girls who can be
accommodated.
Seniors Go `Up And Out'
The Greater Detroit Sec-
tion, National Council of
Jewish Women, will sponsor
a bus trip for seniors to the
Attic Theater production of
Vaudeville at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The event is one of ten
programs planned by
N.C.J.W. this year for
seniors. Called "Up and Out,"
the non-sectarian project is in
its second season. More than
900 Oakland County seniors
are on the section's mailing
list.
Chairman Barbara Stone
said that the program grew
out of N.C.J.W.'s awareness
that the elderly want new
experiences in the commu-
nity. She adds that two
events each year "are
planned for Sundays in order
to relieve the loneliness the
elderly often experience on
that day," she said. All
events include transportation
and are open to the commu-
nity.
Upcoming programs in-
clude a Dec. 11 Chanukah
party with entertainment and
lunch. During January, Feb-
ruary and March the Up and
Out .committee is, planning to
take films, music and dance
presentations to various local
apartment complexes.
Esther Cooper of the De-
troit Institute of Arts will
present a talk with slides on
"Jewish Art Through the
Ages" in April. Singer Helen
Rowin will perform in May.
The program is sponsored
by the Section's public affairs
department, headed by Ann
Zousmer.
There is a fee for the thea-
ter party, which includes tic-
kets, bus transportation and
snacks. Pre-registration is
required. For information,
call the N.C.J.W. offices,
258-6000.
