The General Assembly of the Council of Jewish Federations is probably the only place in the world where you'd find someone getting up to make a public announcement ac- cusing all those who didn't eat their lettuce of not caring about the future of the Jewish people. But that's what happens when you get more than 3,300 Jews to- gether. Jews of all ages and denomi- nations, from cities and towns all over the United States and Canada; Jews who are together, as they were this year in Chicago from Nov. 12-16, for four long days and four long nights to talk about nothing but things Jewish.
