Michael Kam
Twins Ceremony

Michael Kam, son of Dr.
and Mrs. Eliyahu Kam, will
share his bar mitzvah with a
Soviet Jewish boy in absentia
on Saturday at 9 a.m. at
Cong. B'nai Israel of West
Bloomfield.
Michael will "twin" his bar
mitzvah with Igor Stanis-
laysky of Kishinev, Russia.
Igor is the son of Efim and
Maya Stanislaysky. He has a
sister, Irina.
His father was an engineer,
but had to quit in 1976. He
has since found work as a
carpenter. His mother is a
saleswoman.
The reason for their refusal
is secrecy, regime considera-
tions. They have had re-
peated refusals every six
months.

Teen To Twin
Her Bat Mitzvah

Jennifer Lupiloff will share
her bat mitzvah with a Soviet
Jewish girl in absentia, 8
p.m. today, at Temple Israel.
Jennifer, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Steven Lupiloff, will
share her special day with
Olga Sverdlin, whose family
has been denied exit visas
from the Soviet Union since
1978.
Jennifer has written to
Olga, but no contact has been
made with the family.

Two To Twin
Their B'nai Mitzvah

Marc Galens and Jeffrey
Selik will share their b'nai
mitzvah with a Soviet Jew in
absentia, 8:45 a.m. Saturday
at Cong. Shaarey Zedek.
Marc, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Gary (Barbara) Galens, and
Jeffrey, son of Suretta Selik,
will share their b'nai mitzvah
with Evgeny Molchanov of
Kiev.
The Molchanovs are a
separated family. Evgeny's
father, Leonid, emigrated in
1978. A year later, when the
family was able to save
enough money to pay for
visas, Evgeny and his
mother, Galina, submitted
their applications. They were
refused. After applying for a
visa, Mrs. Molchanova lost
her job as a bookkeeper.
