`Vaudeville' Due
At Attic Theater

Laurence Carr's new play,
Vaudeville, will have its
world premiere at Detroit's
Attic Theatre Nov. 21
through Dec. 21, co-sponsored
by Hudson's.
The play, an old-fashioned
sentimental comedy, celeb-
rates the lives of 11 Vau-
deville troupers who inhabit
Turner's Theatrical Boarding
House in the Philadelphia of
1919. Along with its share of
songs and one-liners, the
story revolves around the
performers' hopes and fears of
breaking into the "bit time"
and playing the Palace in
New York City before the
Vaudeville they know and
love fades into memories. For

Meanwhile, the Attic
Theatre's president, Lavinja
Moyer, and managing direc-
tor, Bruce Makous, an-
nounced that Barrie C.
Werba has been named direc-
tor of development.

Center Area, announced the
appointment of Bruce B.
Makous as managing direc-
tor.
As managing director of
the Attic Theatre, he will be
responsible for finance, fun-
draising, marketing, plan-
ning and production man-
agement.
