FAMILY ITALIAN DINING & PIZZA
Ia
Continued from preceding page
from Kingsley Inn who took
care of our table at recent
Southfield Boards & Commis-
sions award banquet ... Very
efficient, personable, smiling
and cooperative.
GIVE CHEF MARTY
WILK of Excalibur Restau-
rant all the credit for the
outstanding coconut chicken
at recent "Dream Makers" af-
fair by Gorman Gallery ...
So good that he and owner
Pat Archer should put them
on their menu.
Also, gal in white who
looked so attractive in de-
signer outfit was Harriet
Brummer, not Harriet Fuller
. . . Sorry, gals, the names
somehow got mixed up.
BIG EXCITEMENT is at
Michigan Cancer Foundation
as its date draws closer for
the Angels black tie benefit,
Dec. 12, ... Angels are group
of MCF supporters who con-
tribute $2,000 annually to
the foundation ... It was
formed last year by Helen
and the late Paul Zuckerman.
The benefit will be held in
conjunction with grand open-
ing of The Whitney, an ex-
traordinary restaurant which
Richard Kughn, owner with
Ron Fox and John McCarthy,
has offered for the evening
. The restaurant is located
in the David Whitney, Jr.
Mansion built in 1894 ...
undoubtedly the costliest
home built in Detroit at that
time ... Renovations are
underway to restore it to its
former splendor.
The evening will be far
more than a typical dinner
fundraiser . . . Guest will
enjoy cocktails, hors
d'oeuvres, seven-course meal
with fine wines and chamber
music ... plus orchestra for
dancing ... Evening's events
have been scheduled
throughout the mansion,
from the third floor Winter-
garden with its potted palms
and oak bar, to the restored
individual dining rooms on
ground level.
