Patrons "book it" as they purchase volumes
in support of the annual Jewish Book Fair

artist Theo Tobiasse
kicked off the 35th an-
nual Jewish Book Fair
Saturday night at the
main Jewish Community Center.
The book fair also highlights an art
exhibit by Tobiasse.
Hardbacked and paperbacked
books in a variety of subjects, includ-
ing Judaica, cooking, history, chil-
dren's stories and fiction, will be of-
fered at the fair which continues
through Saturday. Following is the
schedule for the remaining days of
the fair:

SATURDAY
English-Yiddish
Theater Night
8 p.m., Yale Strom and his Klezmer
Band, YIVO's Golden Peacock
Players, co-sponsored by Sholem
Aleichem Institute, Workmen's Cir-
cle and Yiddish Committee of the
Jewish Community Center, admis-
sion.
SUNDAY
11 a.m., Bob Rockaway, author of
The Jews in Detroit, 1762-1914, co-
sponsored by the Jewish Historical
Society and the Jewish Parents In-
stitute.

1 p.m., Leonard Wolf, in Yiddish,
translator of The Street, co-sponsored
by Sholem Aleichem Institute,
Workmen's Circle and Yiddish
Committee of the Jewish Commu-
nity Center.
2. p.m., Children's Program, film,
Molly's Pilgrim, admission.
2 p.m., Peter Sichrovsky, author of
Strangers in Their Own Land:
Young Jews in Germany and Austria
Today, co-sponsored by Children of
Holocaust Survivors Association in
Michigan, Jewish War Veterans De-
partment of Michigan, and Lgdies
Auxiliary.
3 p.m., Charles Silberman, author of
A Certain People, co-sponsored by
American Jewish Committee and
Jewish Community Council of Met-
ropolitan Detroit.
4 p.m., Harriet Sarnoff Schiff, author
of Living Through Mourning, co-
sponsored by the Jewish Funeral Di-
rectors of America.
Oral lip-reading and sign lan-
guage total communication inter-
preters will be provided with the In-
frared Sound System. For reserva-
tions, call the Jewish Center, 661-
