A televised encounter Tuesday
between Jews who believe Jesus is
the Messiah of the Jewish people
and their detractors was only "a tiny
scratch in a 2,000 year controversy,"
host John Kelly told his audience on
Channel 7's Kelly & Company pro-
gram.
The half-hour segment featured
Loren Jacobs of the Jesus group

Consul General Dr. Gotz von
Boehmer, Van Well previously
served as Germany's ambassador to
the United Nations and as state sec-
retary in Bonn, the highest-ranking
civil service position in the German
Foreign Ministry.
David Jaffe, president of the De-
troit Chapter of the American
Jewish Committee which is co-
sponsoring Van Well's appearance,
attached some importance to the
ambassador's talk. "It will show
people what has been going on in
Germany for the last 40 years (since
the Holocaust)," Jaffe said.
The AJCommittee has a history
of programming in Germany Since
World War II. A seminar last spring
sponsored by the University of Col-
