A native of Silver Spring,
Md., Klitenic joined the
Channel 7 news team in
1985, after having spent
three years as a sports an-
chor at WJBK-TV (Channel
2). Previously, he was sports
anchor at WBNS in Colum-
bus, Ohio, for one year and
served in the same capacity
at WWBT in Richmond, Va.
He earned bachelor's and
master's degrees in jour-
nalism at the University of
South Carolina.
An accomplished athlete,
Klitenic was named All-
American in high school for
basketball and was a four-
year basketball letterman in
college. He also won a gold
medal for his basketball
skills in the 1977 worldwide
competition for Jewish
athletes held in Israel.

Young Couples
To Frankenmuth

The Jewish Community
Center's Young Jewish
Couples Club will visit
Frankenmuth Nov. 16 for a
Sunday of wine tasting, strol-
ling through the shops and a
chicken dinner. The group
will leave at 10:45 a.m. from
the parking lot of Bennigan's
(Woodward and Square Lake)
and double up in carpools for
the ride to Frankenmuth.
The price of the dinner is the
only expense for the day. For

Dr. Stanley Kirschner

The Wayne State Univer-
sity Alumni Association re-
cently awarded one of its
Alumni Faculty Service
Awards to Dr. Stanley
Kirschner of Huntington
Woods.
Dr. Kirschner has been a
member of WSU's Chemistry
Department since 1954. In
the 1960s he was named
permanent secretary of the
International Conference on
Coordination Chemistry and
has been instrumental in or-
ganizing its seminars
throughout the world.
He has served as a visiting
professor or Fulbright fellow
in England, Brazil, Romania,
Italy, Japan and Portugal,
and is chairman-elect of the
division of chemical educa-
